چکیده

Moisture is a significant component in cotton growth and yield, but stress the main factor limiting crop productivity since it has negative impact on cotton's ability to produce high-quality fiber as well square/boll lint output. Reduced water availability during development of bolls could lead drastically decreased yield. Four genotypes (MNH-1020, FH-114, BH-178 CIM-602) were grown under regular irrigation water-deficit circumstances examine tolerance scarcity. To further understand impacts shortage, four watering treatments used this study: control 100% field capacity, 70% 60% 40% capacity at squaring stage till boll formation. As amount soil moisture declines, we have observed fall length, fineness, strength. Yield/plant reduced due less no flowers bolls, also because weight. When was extreme reproductive stage. MNH-1020 showed drought by exhibiting maximum weight characters when compared other three varieties, while FH-114 being second. CIM-602 susceptibility exhibited least bolls/plant, yield/plant

Evaluation of Yield and some Agronomical Traits in Dracocephalum Moldavica L. Ecotypes under Drought Stress Condition

Moldavian balm (Dracocephalum moldavica L.) is a medicinal plant belongs to the Lamiaceae family, which is used as stomachic, sedative and healing of wound. Drought stress is one of the most important factors limiting the growth and production of crops and affects on plants at different levels. In order to study the effect of drought stress on some agronomical traits of 14 ecotypes of Dracoceph...

Effect of Nitrogen on Seed Cotton Yield and Fiber Qualities of Cotton (gossypium Hirsutum L.) Cultivars

Seed cotton yield and fiber qualities may be significantly altered by a number of agronomic practices. The present study investigates the effect of nitrogen levels on cotton cultivar's seed cotton yield and fiber quality traits. Three cotton cultivars (NIAB-111, CIM496 and FH901) were tested against four nitrogen levels (0, 60, 120 and 180 kg ha) to check reliability, the highest yielding and g...

Repeatability and stability analysis for fiber traits in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Cotton fiber quality is defined by several traits, which are affected by genotype×environment interaction (GEI). The objectives of this work were to study GEI of fiber traits, the repeatability and the effect of the size of testing environments in detecting cultivar genetic differences by High Volume Instrument (HVI), and the usefulness of two GEI derived stability indices, σ2i and GGE Instabil...

QTL Mapping for Fiber Quality and Yield Traits Based on Introgression Lines Derived from Gossypium hirsutum × G. tomentosum

The tetraploid species Gossypium hirsutum is cultivated widely throughout the world with high yield and moderate fiber quality, but its genetic basis is narrow. A set of 107 introgression lines (ILs) was developed with an interspecific cross using G. hirsutumacc. 4105 as the recurrent parent and G. tomentosum as the donor parent. A specific locus amplified fragment sequencing (SLAF-seq) strateg...

Effect of Waterlogging on Carbohydrate Metabolism and the Quality of Fiber in Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

Transient waterlogging occurs frequently in the Yangtze River and adversely affects cotton fiber quality. However, the carbohydrate metabolic mechanism that affects fiber quality after waterlogging remains undescribed. Here, the effects of five waterlogging levels (0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 days) were assessed during flowering and boll formation to characterize the carbohydrates, enzymes and genes tha...
